Island life land grab
Where hath that Lulu of Longmizzle been hiding out? It is a question the long suffering Monsieur often wonders at the weekends. Weirdly he has an app that tracks her beautiful bobbing bonce. Sometimes her big head mistakenly appears floating in areas over the English Channel, miles from land. On other occasions, the app correctly locates the elusive one.
Welcome to Island Life!
St Michael's Mount garden is now closed to the public until next spring. Saint Lulu can kick back with a drone delivered Friday night Kakahari curry and choice cold cider.
From a towering tower, she keeps a stern eye on the mainland peasants trying to reach the mount via the tidal causeway. Some are brazen enough to roll their trousers up to their knees for the crossing. These cheap flints simply cannot afford the ferry crossing. Soggy pockets lead to soggy Lidl receipts. Ferry crossers maintain their Waitrose receipt integrity.
Before her Knighting and Big Lotto win, Dame Lulu once returned from the Mount at the last possible opportunity as the tide was swiftly coming in, skirt tucked into knickers and rucksack held up high. She now knows better and has the coastguard securely on speed dial.
Behold the beautiful succulents that thrive on the storage heater emitting rock....
(just ignore the photo bombing commoners)
Please do take a moment to sign the guest book, but make sure to exit the island by nightfall.
We kindly ask that you don't take any succulents with you.
By order of new island management :)
Thank you for visiting!

It wasn't easy to grab ;) Of course you can come to visit Beate. Just give me some notice so I can alert the footmen :) x
DeleteDid you leave those succulents alone? They look pretty spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI was very good Cherie! Other visitors ... not so. Chunks missing from succulent clusters and 'do not' signs about :0 x
DeleteOh my, those succulents will surely win you First Prize at the Falmouth Flower Show next year! Such a pity you have to put up with those commoners, the knicker tucking chucking cheapskates in particular. Mind you, the one time I was there, I made use of the causeway too. But that, of course, was well before you ruled the island! xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about closing off the causeway Ann! A good thick wall should do it. Glad you got to visit before my planned additional fortifications, but of course you would be welcome x
DeleteIt's somewhere I've yet to visit. I had no idea the island was covered in so many succulents. Xx
ReplyDeleteHi Jules! The gardeners have to abseil down the rocks to reach them :0 :) x
Deletehey lulu - you use the german word "abseil"?! very interesting but why? xxx
DeleteOoh your own island eh? All of that power!
ReplyDeleteI've yet to visit your kingdom, but it looks like succulent heaven! xxx
I don't recommend ever visiting on a bank holiday weekend Claire. There seem to be many more commoners about than usual x
DeleteHaha, hello my little stealthy succulent searcher - today blogger knows I am not a robot, not so last time, been trying to leave a comment for ages! I can imagine that day out was succulent heaven for you, How stingy though that you cant pinch the odd bit here and there on your walk. Those annoying photobombers, we make a point when someone is outstayin their welcome on the vanity shots, I pretend to pose right in the way and hubby pretends to take a pic of me going left a bit, right a bit etc... they soon get the message, then we look surprised and say 'oh would you like us to take one of you all together?' after that we hover and they push off fast!! When I went to the stone circles with my bruv recently these pesky people just would not stop taking boring pics of themselves and we wanted to hug the stones and feel the vibes, so I lay down for a little sleep until they pushed off. More garden posts please :) Betty
ReplyDeleteI'm glad some stone circles visitors will have a sleeping Betty in their pictures :) :) :) There was one couple at the mount who spent an exceptional amount of time taking photos! Hogging the whole vista they were! Thank you for persevering in proving you are not a robot xXx
