Long Mizzle Garden

 Hello m' fizz pots, It's too bloomin' hot outside, so I've come in for a nice glass of cokey pokey* and wee blog sesh. Ol' Glass Eyed Mumrah told me off for not doing a post last week! Feet up and crunching on ice cubes, I'm smug in the thought that I won't have to bucket up the bath water tonight and lug it downstairs to water the patio pots. This is because I have gradually been planting them up with drought tolerant succulents. * The cokey can't pokey because the pokey's in the cokey! * [The copyright goes to my six year old daughter who came up with that slogan. Hello m' sunnies, Well I wasn't going to do a post this week, but the weekends don't quite feel right without a little blogging. So here's my first venture in to making a wee garden video: one take - no posh kit, retakes or editing allowed. That eats into revision time, plus more importantly, tea drinking and biscuit dunking time. I just wanted to show you the Sweet Williams, 'Crystal Lemon' cucumbers and Dahlia bed.   I meant to say in the video that the little pot was for collecting white beach pebbles tangled up in the seaweed.  Hello m' bees knees, If you garden it, they will come! Here's Bjork and Sia (otherwise known as 'Almond Blossom' and 'Narcissus') caught playing at the bottom of the garden. This is a very rare sighting indeed. These photos mysteriously appeared on my kids' iPad, but the fairies have not revealed themselves in person, and are not likely to. They are from the 1980s afterall, so very much like myself, need to rest themselves for large periods of the year.  The Hornby Flower fairies, inspired by Cisely Mary Barker's drawings,  were produced between 1983 - 1989. I had Apple Blossom (now aka Bjork) when I was little.  One day she just went missing, along with the giant orange space hopper,  and grandad-built non-health-and-safety-compliant scooter. It is so nice to have her back, albeit missing her flower hat and staff. Seems that she has found an acrobatic friend too ('Naricissus', aka Sia). Who knows when we will see them again?
